This week we’re doing something different.  If you read this blog, you already know that I read and review a lot of books here.  Today, I want to take a look at magazines.  I like to read the digital version of books and have also begun to read magazines in digital format.  I’ve really started to like Texture’s magazine app

I’ve personally used the app and found it enjoyable.   The selection of titles suit my taste with categories ranging from Travel to Business to Lifestyle.  Some of my personal favorites are National Geographic, Time and Better Homes and Gardens.  But, whatever your preferences, you’re likely to find interesting titles like Fortune, Women’s Health, Men’s Fitness and Cosmopolitan to name a few.

To give you a good idea of what this app is all about, I read dozens of reviews from customers.  I’ve listed some of the main pros and cons that customers are talking about with this app. You can go through the list and see what you think.

Pros

1.  Good Selection of Titles

2.  Magazines Available for All Ages

3.  Cheaper Than Subscribing to Individual Magazines Separately

4.  Ability to Read Back Issues

5.  App is Easy to Use

6.  Hyperlinks Within Articles That Take You to a Related Article, Adds Depth

7.  Saves Space and the Clutter of Paper Magazines on the Bookshelf

8.  Read All Types of Magazines for $15 or Less

9.  Can Download Lots of Magazines Before a Flight or Trip

Cons

  1. Great for IPads, Tablets, Kindle and Larger Phones But Text May Be Small on Standard-Sized Smartphones

  2. Some Windows 10 Users Have Reported Problems With The App

  3. Access to Some Titles Require Premium Membership

If you read magazines regularly, this app might be a good choice.  I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for the occasional reader who only thumbs through a tabloid once or twice a year while waiting in line at the supermarket.

But if you find yourself subscribing to more than one or two magazines that you actually read and like, you should probably try this app. If you don’t like it, you can always cancel the service.  However, you may actually like it.
